It's flames are a blazing fire. Deep waters cannot quench love, nor floods sweep it away." I'm sure there were guests who thought it a strange quotation, rather grim for a wedding. But I adored it and wouldn't have given it up for the world. <br /><br />I loved most of all, and still love, that first phrase: stern as death is love. <br /><br />Love equals death seems to be getting at the same idea from the other side.
