He does contrast the Catholic lack of certainty in one's salvation with the Protestant idea that once one is justified, one can rest easy. And he also says that Protestants believe that justification conveys some sort of almost material sensation in the soul, so that when you're saved, you know it -- a feeling that we don't have. I suppose on the one hand, our salvation is never in question, because of Christ's sacrifice, but on the other, it's always in doubt, because of our own choices and behavior.Pentimentohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17161146891505294679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5554498168264477884.post-64518001564921311852009-11-15T08:28:30.083-05:002009-11-15T08:28:30.083-05:00Perhaps it would help to know that the Hebrew sens...Perhaps it would help to know that the Hebrew sense of the word "saved" is beyond tense: I am saved, I was saved, I will be saved. Your conversion, as dramatic as it was, began with your baptism.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5554498168264477884.post-75675838687111731962009-11-15T08:25:24.085-05:002009-11-15T08:25:24.085-05:00Like all saints, she was very tough.Like all saints, she was very tough.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5554498168264477884.post-90376845744635867062009-11-14T12:37:03.745-05:002009-11-14T12:37:03.745-05:00I bet she did! He described her as "old school." Not original, but apparently she had an iron will.Emily J.https://www.blogger.com/profile/01132106976424535611noreply@blogger.com
