A beautiful scene from the 1940 film "Waterloo Bridge," a World War II movie about World War I, which stars the impossibly gorgeous pair of Robert Taylor and Vivien Leigh as, respectively, a Scottish officer (with an American accident) and an aspiring ballerina (who descends to prostitution).
A happy and blessed new year to all.

I LOVE that movie, especially that particular scene. Happy New Year!
It's one of my favorites, too, Elena! A great movie.
I discovered it while I was writing my dissertation, which (as I've probably told you already) deals with the use of music imagery in the representation of sin and conversion in nineteenth-century British painting and literature. Waterloo Bridge was notorious in the 1850s as a spot where prostitutes and fallen women committed suicide, and the movie extends that connotation into the twentieth century.
I'm Catholic too :) Happy new year!
Happy new year to you too, VioletRayne, and welcome.
