Very Urgent Prayer Request

Dear readers, please pray for C. and his family.

In spite of several stints in rehab and a great deal of therapy, C. was unable to overcome the addictions that enslaved him. He transferred his obsession from drugs and alcohol to transgressive sexual behavior, tearing apart his family in the process. He was estranged from his wife and young daughter and in the process of a divorce.

Two days ago he attempted suicide with three gunshots to the head. He is in an intensive care trauma unit right now and is in very bad shape. I don't know his prognosis. He and his wife are both from big Catholic families, but both have fallen away. Please pray for him, his wife J., who is a good friend of mine, and their little daughter.

I will pray.

My prayers for all three of them, and heartfelt sympathy. It's hard to imagine that he could have any but a very poor prognosis with three gunshot wounds to the head. I pray that if he dies he'll find mercy.

Thank you so much for your prayers.

The doctors are trying to stabilize him and prevent brain swelling and infection, but I don't know how he could possibly recover from this.

I'll help to storm heaven. I have a friend who has battled addiction for most of his life. It's horrible no matter what form it takes and leaves a path of destruction. May God's will be done. I just don't know what else to pray in circumstances like these.

May God's will be done is the best prayer, I think. Thank you to all who read this and offer a prayer for C. and his family.

They have my prayers. Such suffering in the world...

They have my prayers as well. A good friend of my husband's killed himself, also after a lifetime of addictions and prior suicide attempts, and the wreckage in the wake of a tornado is the image that comes to mind whenever I think of him, or of this kind of situation.

Again, I'll be praying for them.
